just what it feels like

It feels like cheating to blog with Instagram photos so often instead of real ones taken with my nice camera... but sometimes my phone is all I have on hand. Or I don't want to get my camera sticky with paint and glue. Or I'm just lazy? I know I've said this before... I love how phone photography makes it so easy to capture life in the moment. No posing, lighting, etc. Just snapping what it feels like.

Here's a couple from the last week.

Signing and numbering the first round of limited edition prints of "The Only Thing". I can't believe how fast these are flying out of my shop!

I drink coffee all. day. long. On this day I had a lot of emailing and accounting and computer stuff to do so I upgraded to a pumpkin spice latte.

Sunday Farmers market haul... delicious organic pumpkin bread and organic, cage free local eggs. I also scored a few more nautical maps at the vintage market next door. I will be sad when the farmers market closes in November.

Another farmer's market find... a very old, chippy blue barn door to serve as my new studio table top. The vintage sellers at SOWA market are very kind to artists and I got it for almost nothing.

For Mike's birthday, I bought us tickets to a 2-day music festival right outside Boston... it was sunny and warm and so much fun.

The closing act was Dave Matthews at dusk... the perfect end to a long, fun summer.

The large painting up there (4 feet x 2 feet!) is the last of five inspired by my whalewatching trip up to Gloucester last month... I'm hoping to finish it tonight and drop them all off for scanning tomorrow morning. I really like these ones... it's sort of a new direction for me . We'll see how it goes.

We have a big weekend ahead of us... lots of real photos will be taken, I promise!
